This beauty is similar to the common King palm but differs in it leaf coloration, crownshaft texture and trunk texture. The undersides of the leaves are silver-white and reflect landscape lighting very well which adds a little more drama to the nightscape. The crownshaft is glabrous (smooth and shiny without tomentum). The trunk develops very distinct rings that create a ridged look and the trunk develps an attractive swollen base.
